I am a Yankee living in Texas. I don't think I could endure another northeastern Ohio winter, after living in warmer climates for almost twenty years. Of course, I have still not mastered the survival of the south Texas 100 degree summer days either!

I live in a historic stone house, in a very rural setting. I have several dogs and cats, and 4 chickens that roam the yard and provide eggs. I love the quiet, rural life! My animals are very good company, when they are not getting into mischief! I have always had dogs and cats, and dog training is one of my interests. Although I am currently not involved with horse, and do not own a horse at this time, I have about thirty years of experience in horse care, training, riding and showing. I originally came to Texas for a job to manage a horse breeding ranch.

I recently got interested in raising chickens, for the eggs. They are great pets! I have four of them, and not only do they provide delicious and nutritious eggs, they are in charge of pest control, weed control and the providing of manure for the garden. They are also very good at providing manure on the back porch, but I try to discourage that!

I went to school in Seattle, where I lived for seven years before becoming a Texan. I studied graphic design and illustration, after making a living for about ten years in the printing industry. I am still involved in graphic design and illustration, as a free-lancer, and have been getting into publishing. I recently published a childrens book with a friend. I provided the photography, book design and some writing, and I set it all up for printing. Freckles The Lucky Dog can be found on Amazon.com.
